Finished primary education at Naile Elem. School; secondary education at Pandan Bay Institute; obtained ETC and BSED from Nortwestern Visayan Colleges.
First teaching was in Pandan, Antique, 1959 – 60; transferred to Aklan in 1960 and was assigned in Naile Elem. School until 1977; reassigned in Unat – Bagacay Elem. School until 1994. Retired as Master Teacher I at the age of 65.
Married to Francisco Sitjar Manikan and have 2 children: Frank – Nautical graduate; Buendelyn – Midwifery graduate.
