Finished primary education at Ibajay Central School; secondary education at Ibajay Academy; attended College at Central Philippine University of which he received the Degree of Science with History as major in 1953 and then taught in public school. Appointed as the Provincial Correspondent of the Manila Daily Bulletin.
When clearance was suspended due to the Japanese invasion of the Philippines, he received the order to report to the military authorities to edit and manage the publication of the unknown soldiers in a guerilla newspaper to cover the Japanese propaganda. When peace finally returned in 1943, he returned to teaching. He was promoted as a Head Teacher, then as a Principal 1 and as a District Supervisor. Retired on September 10, 1982.
